What we love
This small, incredibly friendly hotel offers warm, attentive service within a gorgeous garden setting - bursting with Caribbean charm.
Setting the scene
As the sister hotel to the Coral Reef Club, The Sandpiper has the same friendly, family-owned sense of pride and warmth, but in a more intimate setting. The hotel has a gorgeous pocket of private Caribbean beach and a stunning tropical garden setting, which increases the cosy, exclusive yet informal atmosphere and sense of privacy. Tranquil and laid-back, this is perfect place to really unwind and switch off.
There are just 48 rooms and suites that have a mix of traditional and contemporary style and design, they each make the most of the garden and ocean surrounds, so base your choice on your view of preference or your needs as a couple, group or family.
Christophe Poupardin and his team offer 5 menus per week based around classical and contemporary Caribbean cuisine in The Restaurant. Breakfast here was one of our most enjoyable in Barbados, but we especially loved the bamboo clad and thatched roofed Harold's Bar, for beachside relaxed lunches and the perfect place for a tropical sundowner.
There is plenty to do, and there is plenty not to do, whatever you decide! There are many complementary watersports on offer at the hotel, such as Hobie Cat sailing, Laser and Sunfish sailing, Kayaking, Paddle boarding and Snorkeling. Diving is available at nearby Coral Reef Club. There is an in-house gym and tennis court for more active days and world-class golf nearby. There is a small swimming pool and you also have access to the superb spa facilities at the nearby Coral Reef Club.
Although families are welcomed at The Sandpiper, many of the facilities that you can use are located at the nearby Coral Reef Club. There is a special family programme for children between 2 and 12, which include a variety of watersports and other activities. There is a playground and several room categories especially suited to families, as well as children's menus. Older children love the beach-front location and non-motorised watersports. It should be noted that children are not permitted between 15th Jan and 28th Feb.
It is approximately a 45 minute drive from Grantley Adams International Airport.
