What we love
The Viceroy is the place to embrace the slower pace of life, to absorb the sights, aromas and sounds of the stunning coastline and tropical forests. Private plunge pools and beautifully furnished terraces give a feel of outdoor living perfect for soaking up the sunshine.
Setting the scene
The impeccable service and attention to detail starts from the moment you arrive with personalised greeting and check in. Surrounded by the palms of the tropical forest, this beach front resort is quiet, intimate and romantic. Whether you indulge with sundowner cocktails, romantic waterfront dining, luxurious spa treatments or lounging on the white sand beach, just indulge!
The white walled, palm roofed villas are surrounded by the lush tropical forest, your own personal luxury hideaway. There are a range of villas to choose from differing in size and location within the resort. All boast a private patio with plunge pool, hammock and chaise lounges, sumptuous furnishings and spacious bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers. The decor of the villas reflects the Mayan culture using natural woods and simple, fresh feeling design.
In keeping with the relaxed atmosphere of the Viceroy, you can dine at your leisure throughout the day at a choice of restaurants or in your villa. Both restaurants take advantage of the beach location, being situated at the front of the resort. The Coral Grill is a showcase for the region's seafood, combining this with locally sourced organic produce, the freshly made, wood-fired pizzas are also recommended. A host of daily specials await at La Marea Restaurant, again featuring the local fresh fish and meats. Dining at the Viceroy goes beyond the restaurant experience to unique and memorable foodie occasions. For a romantic evening take in the views from the Pier or enjoy a private candlelit table on the beach. Friday night is beach BBQ night where the chef's skills are taken alfresco to enjoy a hearty medley of seafood and meats all cooked to perfection. For a truly gastronomic experience try the Chefs Table - seven courses of excellently prepared and presented gourmet cuisine. The tequila tasting is the perfect way in which to get to know many flavours of the traditional Mexican Tequila under the guidance of the Tequilero and served with a delicious selection of ceviches.
Forget about rushing around, this is a sanctuary for rest, relaxation and calmness. Enjoy the tropical temperatures and lush surroundings as you unwind by your plunge pool, the lagoon pool or on the seven miles of white sand beach, complete with private pier. At the Wayak Spa a range of treatments incorporate traditional Mayan rituals and techniques bringing a hint of the indigenous culture to your experience. The spa also boasts Jacuzzis and steam rooms and the hotel has a fully equipped gym. Tennis and golf facilities are open to all guests. |Choose from a wealth of activities whether your preference is on land or at sea.
