What we love
Le Mas Candille is a gorgeous combination of rustic French charm and serious luxury - close enough to Cannes for all the fun, but far enough away to allow for countryside relaxation.
Setting the scene
A beautifully converted 18th Century farmhouse with just 45 individually designed Provencal style rooms, Le Mas Candille overlooks Cannes and the foothills of the Alps. Extensive private grounds peppered with towering trees and plenty of shade provide a lovely place to relax; while inside the hotel exudes a relaxed atmosphere without compromising on Relais & Chateau luxury.
The 45 rooms and suites at Le Mas Candille are split between three buildings known as 'Le Mas', 'La Bastide' and 'La Villa Candille'. Authentically Provencal, many of the rooms feature elegant pieces of furniture, antiques, splashes of rich colour, and original artwork. The suites in La Villa Candille - a stylish new extension of the original building - are larger, with spacious lounge areas and fabulous terraces with panoramic views towards Grasse and the foothills of the Alps.
Good food is of the utmost importance at Le Mas Candille, and there are several places to enjoy it. The head chef at Restaurant Candille, David Chauvac, and his team produce delicious, classically French creations that change each week in accordance with available local produce. Another option is La Pergola (open in summer), for varied Mediterranean cuisine against the unforgettable backdrop of the pre-Alps. If you're in the mood for something more fun, the Chef's Table is not to be missed. David Chauvac will create an eight-course tasting menu and will be with you personally to explain the dishes as they arrive.
The hotel is very close to the ancient town of Mougins, where Picasso spent many years of his life, as well as all of the excitement of Cannes. Back home, there is a luxurious holistic spa based on the Oriental Shiseido Qi method offering a wide choice of therapies and treatments and equipped with a sauna, Jacuzzi, fitness area and hydrotherapy pool. In summer, you can also make use of the family or adults-only pools in the hotel gardens. A variety of outings and activities can be organised further afield, including golf, sailing and museum visits.
The hotel does not offer facilities or activities specifically aimed at children.
Le Mas Candille is a 20 minute drive from Nice International Airport. The village of Mougins is 8kms from Cannes, which has a harbour and a train station.
