Setting the scene

Lovingly and meticulously restored since its heyday as Palazzo Scala, the residence of Lorenzo iL Magnifico, head of Florence's ruling family, the Medici's, this hotel is masterpiece off truly palatial proportions. The magnificence of this hotel has ensured it has become one of, if not the, best luxury hotel in Florence.

Sleeping

The accommodation is split over both these properties but all rooms & suites evoke the feeling of regency and unrivalled luxury. The views range from the glorious internal courtyard of the Palazzo, the manicured Giardino or the cobbled, quiet side streets & neighbouring gardens that keep guard of this historical treasure trove of a hotel. The style and interiors of the rooms & suites are all individual but all are en-suite with large marble bathrooms and enjoy the luxury service and amenities synonymous with the Four Seasons brand - pure, uncompromising quality. 

Eating

To start your day off in style head to the La Magnolia in the ground floor of the Conventino which is an intimate, classically decorated restaurant serving breakfast either indoor or outdoor on the terrace out onto the gardens. For a casual and relaxed lunch, head out to the swimming pool and seat yourself on the al fresco terrace and feast on typically Tuscan trattoria flare. On the ground floor of the Palazzo della Gherardesca, you'll find the 1 Michelin star Il Palagio restaurant, with vaulted ceilings and contemporary décor, there is an innovative menu on offer with exceptional Italian wines on offer promising a fantastic evening of fine dining. And for those in search of a caffeine fix, a favourite tipple or a must have aperitif,sit  amongst the rich mahogany and walnut furnishings of the Atrium Bar with live piano in the evenings sets the scene for the ultimate Dolce Vita.

Doing

Staying at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze puts you in the centre of this enchanting city - the birthplace of the Renaissance. However, first and foremost let's not forget the plethora on offer at the hotel itself. With gorgeous views of the garden, the outdoor pool (open April to October) at the hotel offers a calm oasis away from the bustle of the city. Though one of the largest Florentine gardens - 11 acres in total - this walled park has been kept private and unseen for hundreds of years, and it is entirely yours to explore. For those who are keen to keep in shape during their stay, there is the fully equipped fitness centre and fitness classes available.

Playing

Families can be accommodated in connecting rooms and/or suites at the hotel. Four Seasons makes no additional charge for children 18 years old and under occupying the same guest room with parents or guardians, and the hotel offers a Children's Welcome program to ensure their younger guests feel just as special as the 'grown ups'! As well as a host of friendly chefs waiting to share their secrets for the perfect ice cream, there is so much on offer for all the family. 

Arriving

Florence Airport is a 1 hour journey by car. However, the flight routes from UK are limited to this airport. Therefore, for daily, regular flights from the UK, arrive into Pisa airport which is an hour transfer from Florence.
