This exclusive hotel that is loved by Hollywood A-Listers is quite simply a joyous haven of glamour and elegance.

Belmond La Residencia, Deia

67 Rooms & Suites

Setting the scene

Belmond La Residencia is an award-winning hotel (previously famously owned by Sir, Richard Branson) in the utterly charming village of Deia. The dramatic, granite Tramuntana mountains set the backdrop for this exclusive boutique hotel, with the sea at its feet. Beautifully surrounded by an impressive 30 acres of ancient olive and citrus groves this hotel offers a sensorial, sensational experience with a superb spa, a world-renowned restaurant, and a whole lot more!

Sleeping

No room is the same at La Residencia, and there are 67 rooms and suites from which to choose, depending on your budget and requirements. Each room is decorated in traditional, cosy and comfortable Mallorcan style, with luxurious bathrooms and all the modern comforts you could possibly wish for.  The junior suites provide maximum space and most of them have a private balcony, terrace or small garden. There is one villa available - perfect for those who wish to self-cater and desire more privacy and space.

Eating

Dining at the hotel is a gastronomic delight and offers some of the best culinary experiences in Mallorca.  Cafe Miro Restaurant reflects the artistic history of Deia and provides delicious menus for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Here you can also enjoy live music every evening, and in summer the terrace provides unspoiled views over pretty Deia.  Award-winning  fine dining can be found at El Olivio - an unmissable and truly memorable experience in beautiful surroundings.  The Pool Restaurant offers a wide range of Mediterranean delights - A stunning spot to eat with the mountains rising beyond. And for breakfast, Son Foy is the place for scrumptious freshly baked breads, pastries, homemade jams and more!  Deia, if you fancy a change, has a number of renowned restaurants and bars, all of which come highly recommended.

Doing

It is tempting not to leave this hotel and its gardens - there is so much to enjoy. Two outdoor swimming pools with dramatic mountain backdrops provide the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. In keeping with the setting of arty Deia, La Residencia is home to two acclaimed art galleries - Sa Tafona and Albeniz, which feature an inspiring variety of exhibitions and performances throughout the year. The beautiful gardens house one of the largest permanent sculpture gardens in Spain.  2 excellent tennis courts overlook the Mediterranean Sea, and lessons are available with the resident tennis pro. The excellent Spa and gym has an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, and 6 treatment rooms - 3 of which have outside terraces to make the most of the the stunning views.  The hotel is brilliantly located for a range of excursions.  Take a 2 hour boat-ride along the coastline and explore secluded coves or ask the hotel to pack a picnic onto one of its resident donkeys and hike off into the hills. During the summer the hotel organises a programme of fantastic events, including themed music nights and culinary evenings. We recommend hiring a car and making the most of the local area (if you can drag yourself away from such a relaxing atmosphere).

Playing

Children are welcome at La Residencia throughout the year. There is a well-supervised children's club where your small ones can enjoy some exciting activities, such as hiking with the donkeys, pottery workshops, tennis classes, cookery classes with El Olivio chef, Guillermo.

Arriving

Mallorca is easily accessible from all the major European cities, and Madrid and Barcelona offer daily flights to Palma International Airport. The airport is roughly 50km from Deia - a 45-minute drive. It is possible to schedule a transfer from the airport to the hotel, but taxis are readily available, and of course you can always hire a car.
