What we love
Unless someone has come up with a seven star award then D Hotel has to be the best of the best with its Six Star Diamond Award. And when you visit you'll understand why it is so worthy of such an accolade.
Setting the scene
Recently awarded the Six Star Diamond Award by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, D-Hotel is up there with the best of the best. No amount of carefully chosen adjectives will do it justice. Suffice to say it is in a stunning location on a cliff top and surrounded by forest, the only access to the 5 beaches is by lift down the cliff face, or by boat or golf cart. The views are, of course, unsurpassed from whatever area you choose to frequent.
If you can bear to close your eyes lest you miss the beauty of the place, there are several options available; from the rooms to the suites, with either sea or mountain view, to the villa with unobstructed aspects out on both - all tastefully decorated to the highest standard and designed to be the ultimate escape from whatever you've left behind.
The food is of equal standard to the rest of D-Hotel, with 5 a la carte restaurants to choose from. Award-winning restaurant Zuma is a lounge/bar concept based around the 'izakaya' style of shared eating and drinking, with 3 kitchens including a robata grill and sushi counter. There's no need to get up because Zuma also has mixologists who will rustle you up a cocktail or five, as well as resident DJs to entertain. Nusr-Et is a steak house like no other, the meat locally sourced and cooked to perfection. Getting even closer to nature, The Breeze is on the beach and just a few steps from the water's edge, and serves fish, seafood and locally sourced fruit and vegetables. Rula is also on the beach and offers refined classical Turkish and Ottoman cuisines. Bellariva provides the Italian flavour and the food is prepared by a chef from Florence.
Beautiful does by no means mean dull; there are plenty of things to keep everyone occupied, from watersports such as diving, waterskiiing, wakeboarding and kayaking, to yachting, and from shopping to tennis. For those who prefer to remain in the 'zone' there is Bodyism and an ESPA. Or perhaps circumnavigating the 5 beaches is enough to keep things interesting. There is also a helicopter and a sea plane for hire should you wish to view the hotel from a whole other angle or even visit other parts of Turkey or even the world.
There are no facilities for children.
D-Hotel is located 130km from Dalaman International Airport, 155km from Bodrum International Airport, or 35km from the city of Marmaris. Helicopter and sea plane transfers are also available.
