What we love
The Four Seasons Kuda Huraa (meaning 'little island') manages to blend the feeling of an exclusive and intimate island retreat whilst maintaining superb service and attention-to-detail. The views are flawless, with stunning vistas over the technicoloured coral reefs and aquamarine seas - drink in the natural beauty of this idyllic island, feel the warm sand between your toes, and watch the sun set over the beach!
Setting the scene
A scenic half-hour speedboat ride from Male is all it takes to reach your dream holiday destination at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. A picture-perfect island village, surrounded by sparkling clear waters and soft white sandy beaches, this enchanting island is the sparkling gem of the Maldives. Surrounded by lush vegetation and stunning plants and flowers, the traditionally crafted bungalows and suites that occupy the island blend into the natural environment, creating a peaceful and private haven in which guests can relax and unwind.
The traditionally crafted thatched one bedroom water bungalows are all elevated above the lagoon and perfectly capture panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, choosing from either a sunrise or sunset aspect - several have their own infinity style plunge pool. The tranquil one bedroom beach bungalows have verandahs that drop onto ivory white sand, some also with the option of a pool. The lavish beach and water villas include a luxuriously appointed living room, two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and dressing area, and a spacious wooden deck with a private plunge pool.
There are plenty of options available when it comes to dining at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. Dinner at Baraabaru is a truly elegant affair. Beautifully inspired by the distinctive architecture of Kerala, guests can be entertained on the magical torch-lit deck whilst gazing out over the sea. You will also get the opportunity to watch the skilled chefs at work, as they prepare the deliciously fresh Indian cuisine in the open-air kitchen. For a more relaxed vibe, the Reef Club is the perfect spot. Dine al fresco under the thatched roof pavilion and sample the classic Italian menu, serving fresh seafoods, pizzas and grilled meats. Cafe Huraa is located under an open-sided Maldivian-style thatched-roof pavilion and offers both indoor and outdoor dining in a captivating tropical setting. With magnificent views over the swimming pool and lagoon, the restaurant serves a real Western and Asian fusion, including a blend of traditional curries, wok-prepared noodles and fresh seafood.
At Kandu Grill, guests can relax outdoors and watch the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa chefs expertly grill their freshly caught fish - straight from the boat to your plate! As nightfall descends, the Sunset Lounge is the perfect spot for sipping on glamorous cocktails and watching the dazzling sunset. In prime position to capture beautiful views over the jetty and spa and with gentle music floating in the background, there is a very chilled-out style vibe to the lounge.
A more informal option is the Poolside bar, offering a light snack bar menu and tropical drinks all day long.
For the true romantics, the hotel will pull out all the stops to create your own personal dining heaven - whether it's by candlelight in a remote island spot or beneath a beachside gazebo in front of your villa.
Set on its own tropical island, just one minute's boat-ride away by dhoni (traditional Maldivian boat), discover a blissful sanctuary waiting for you at the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa Island Spa.
There are numerous relaxing massages, treatments and spa packages to choose from, all carried out in beautiful thatched pavilions with wrap-around views and glass floors. The club will keep the kids entertained for hours with island exploring and swimming, art and craft activities and Maldivian beach handicrafts, such as coral painting and palm leaf folding. There is also a children's pool, although it is unsupervised and children under five must have an accompanying adult with them.
