What we love
The floating bar and restaurant are a must! Delicious food, a great setting and you may even get to see Johnny the white tip reef shark who likes to hang out there!
Setting the scene
Designed to blend in with its surroundings, Constance Le Prince Maurice lies nestled on the north-east coast of Mauritius, amidst 60 hectares of unspoiled landscape rich with luxuriant vegetation. Suites and villas perch on stilts above the turquoise lagoon that is a natural fish reserve like wading birds searching out breakfast - unlike guests who aren't expected to catch their own food, rather lie in wait for it to come to them via extremely attentive waiter.
Earthy spices seems to be the theme for Mauritius, and Constance Le Prince is no different with its warm reds and oranges and its natural creams and browns, all contributing to the relaxed and nurturing vibe of each suite and villa. Whether you prefer the beach on your doorstep, plus private plunge-pools and outdoor baths (is there a difference?), or a deck overlooking the sunset and perhaps a plunge into the lagoon, all suites and villas come with top of the range entertainment systems, and even your very own villa master if you choose to stay in the Princely Suite.
Dining in one of the many restaurants at Constance Le Prince Maurice is part of the experience. Beside the hotel's infinity pool, with views overlooking the beach, L'Archipel delights its guests with gourmet fare featuring a light Mauritian twist. Down a lantern-lit walkway that wends its way through mangrove trees is Le Barachois, the resort's floating restaurant, aptly serving fresh fish and seafood whilst you take in the night show from one of the 5 decks overlooking the lagoon. For tapas-style sushi, sashimi and dim sum head to Asian Corner with its Beach Deck, a favourite for sunseekers who can't bear a moment out of the glare. There are three bars to choose from as well as a well-stocked wine cellar to enjoy wine-tasting with cheese and other nibbles.
For those who don't just go on holiday to relax but rather to see how many watersports they can fit into a day, there is every sport you can think of from waterskiing to windsurfing, kayaking to glass-bottom boat trips, all of which are complementary. For a few bob extra there are delights such as scuba diving, cruises, and deep-sea fishing. There are also two 18-hole championship golf courses just a short drive (pardon the pun) from the resort. To acclimatise back into the ambient tranquillity of the resort at the end of a hard day's activities, search out the secluded corner that houses the U Spa by Constance and indulge in a range of treatments using the purest, natural ingredients.
Children are very welcome at Constance Le Prince Maurice, and they have a well-supervised children's club where they will be entertained all day with various activities, whilst you play a round of golf or try your hand at scuba diving.
