What we love
The beach at the St Regis is in my opinion one of the best in Mauritius. A long golden expanse with the backdrop of the imposing Le Morne mountain.
Setting the scene
A five star luxury resort on the south-western side of Mauritius, The St Regis basks on white sands, amongst the swaying palm trees, overlooking the bluest of blue lagoons. Here nature collides with nurture, but in a good way; the villas all designed to the highest standard as testament to their legacy, the service impeccable and unwavering, and the food a culinary delight.
The suites all come with private terrace/balcony overlooking the ocean, plenty of outside space, and the beach just there! All perfectly appointed and in varying sizes dependent on your needs.
For the ultimate experience, The St Regis Villa comes with its own exclusive team, including butler, manager, chef and security guards, as well as 3 private plunge pools and one infinity pool.
Dining in one of the many restaurants at The St Regis is part of the experience. Reflecting the atmosphere of a dining room in a stately home, Le Manoir Dining Room combines exotic Mauritian flavours with classic French cooking. Simply India is anything but simple, in fact twice Michelin-starred Indian celebrity chef Atul Kochhar leads the way with his tandoori specialities and Goan delicacies. Inspired by the chef's daily whims, the dining at Inspiration is intimate to say the least, with only two tables, as if in the chef's own kitchen, where guests can be included in the preparation and then enjoy what they have created. The Boathouse Bar & Grill is a beachside gourmet experience where guests can eat with their feet in the sand and enjoy fresh grilled fish and seafood.
For those who don't just go on holiday to relax but rather to see how many watersports they can fit into a day, there is every sport you can think of from waterskiing to windsurfing, kayaking to glass-bottom boat trips, all of which are complementary. For a few bob extra there are delights such as diving, deep-sea fishing and swimming with dolphins. To acclimatise back into the ambient tranquillity of the resort at the end of a hard day's activities, search out the Iridium Spa and indulge in a range of treatments using the purest, natural ingredients. And don't forget the trusty white sandy beach waiting to welcome you back with open arms.
There are no special facilities for children, however they are still most welcome and there is lots of fabulous beach for them to enjoy.
The St Regis is approximately one hour's drive from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam airport.
