Setting the scene

Set on the north-west corner of exquisite island of Mahe, washed by the warm tides of the Indian Ocean and nestled on the sands of the secluded Anse Louis, is the Maia Luxury Resort & Spa. On its own private peninsular, surrounded by award winning tropical gardens, it offers and explosion of colourful exotic flowers, herbs and greenery, along with breathtaking views and a service beyond all expectations. Exuding pure luxury in a simply stunning environment, the hotel upholds a policy of absolute discretion.

Sleeping

Each of the villas at Maia Luxury Resort & Spa consist of two separate pavilions a private infinity pool and a sublime double sunken bathtub. The eight secluded Signature Villas have unrivalled levels of privacy with spectacular ocean views - perfect for those wishing an idyllic escape away from it all. All eight of the Ocean Front Villas are just a few steps away from the soft white sands of the beautiful private beaches. Ideal for families or larger parties, you can book villas next door to each other. High up on the hilltop, surrounded by lush tropical greenery, are eleven Ocean Panoramic Villas all with stunning views out over the dazzling Indian Ocean. Along the peninsula, the three Ocean View Villas are embraced gently by the sloping hills, overlooking the picturesque Anse Louis beach and the hotel's stunning black lava-stone infinity pool.

Eating

Top chefs are on hand in the open-sided restaurant to serve an exotic fusion of Creole, French, contemporary and Mediterranean cuisine. Delights to tempt all taste buds include freshly caught fish and lobster, grilled scallops and baby squid, all beautifully served with scented herbs and spices picked from the gardens. You will also find a very well stocked wine cellar, with expert advice from a highly knowledgeable sommelier should you need assistance choosing between your Merlots and your Margaux. If love is in the air, the private butler can arrange for a romantic dinner in the seclusion of your own pavilion, or even a candle lit dinner on the beach, with the warm sand between your toes!

Doing

The boutique Balinese-style Maia Spa has three individual, private open-air pavilions, which feature their own garden, changing rooms and showers. The Bali trained professional masseurs have numerous massages and treatments to offer on your wellness journey. For complete relaxation of the body and mind, alfresco group yoga and meditation classes are available too. Their signature Balinese massage is sublime, and was one of the highlights of our trip to the resort! There is a substantial fully-equipped gym on hand, complete with the latest Technogym Excite equipment, as well as the new and much acclaimed Kinesis wall.

Playing

Maia Luxury Resort & Spa prides itself on being child friendly and provides an assortment of 'Very Important Kids' (VIK) activities to suit the needs of all ages. Younger children have will have fun on the beach, supervised swimming lessons, snorkeling in the pool, as well as art and craft activities. Older children and teenagers can enjoy treasure hunts, group canoe trips, volleyball and movies. For some valuable 'grown-up time', the personal butler can babysit during the guests stay.

Arriving

Upon arriving at Seychelles International Airport, a short 25-minute ride in a chauffeur driven car will transport guests directly to the Maia Luxury Resort & Spa. A personal butler will then assist with check-in and luggage details before escorting guests to their villa.
