What we love
One and Only The Palm is super stylish and one of my favourite hotels in Dubai
Setting the scene
In a city that thrives on bigger being better, the One and Only The Palm is a relatively small resort hotel that more than lives up to the service and facilities of its larger neighbours. At the One and Only The Palm you benefit from the space that comes from the stunning location at the end of the palm crescent and at the same time enjoy the views of the city. The hotel is stylish, chic and sophisticated and with every home comfort is the perfect base for a city stay.
Sumptuously appointed rooms and suites are located in the Manor House and boast lavish space, marble bathrooms and outdoor spaces in the form of terraces, balconies or gardens. The decor is full of understated browns, golds and whites with hints of Andalucian and Arabian patterns and design. Those rooms located in the mansions benefit from close proximity to the resort pool area and many have their own private plunge pools whilst the beachfront villas offer more space and a higher level of privacy.
The three hotel restaurants conjure up stylish menus and flavours that will inspire the taste buds. Zest is the signature restaurant of the One and Only The Palm resort and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ambience is fresh feeling and graceful while the menu is truly international in its offerings. 101 Dining Lounge and Bar is cosmopolitan in decor and with its marina location has the feel of a classy yacht club. Choose to dine inside or on the outdoor decking with views of the Dubai skyline and explore the Mediterranean styled menu which oozes casual sophistication. The third restaurant, Stay, is decadent and stylish in its presentation of traditional dishes served with modern twists. For all day refreshments or a pre dinner cocktail, make a visit to the beautifully appointed Lobby Lounge.
With the heat of the sun, water activities are popular and start with the oversized pool at the resort which is perfect for a relaxing afternoon, alternatively take to the private beach for your moments of rest and peace in the sun. A host of watersports from kayaking to water skiing are provided by sister property One and Only Royal Mirage. There are several water based theme parks nearby for family fun. Dubai is an adventure playground and the list of excursions available from the resort is endless, reflecting the variety of this incredible city. Whether you are a city lover and want to explore the shopping malls and Arabian souks or an adventurer that prefers to ride camels into the desert or try your hand at sand skiing there is something for everyone. Known as a golfing destination, the One and Only The Palm is within easy reach of many of Dubai's great golf courses. When you've done all that and want a bit of pamper time the One and Only Private Spa is the place to unwind with an expert massage or beauty treatment. Meanwhile the fitness centre is not just gym equipment but expertise and programs to help you reach your full potential fitness, health and wellbeing.
Children will be just as entertained by the wonders of Dubai as adults making it a great destination for families. At the One and Only The Palm children can enjoy the fun and educational activities of the Kids Only club, open to children between 5 and 11. Getting to know a little of the Arabian culture through Arabian camping, learning a few Arab phrases and having a go at belly dancing whilst sand sculpting and camel riding add some energetic activities to the mix.
Many of the major airlines operate routes into Dubai Airport which is the nearest to the resort. Hotel transfers can be arranged or you can take a taxi from the airport to the resort. Travelling by road will take around forty minutes. Complimentary valet parking is available if you decide to self drive.
