What we love
5-Star accommodation in the heart of Dubai's downtown shopping district - What's not to love!!!
Setting the scene
The Palace Downtown is a perfectly located 5-Star hotel in the centre of the Old Town Island in Downtown Dubai. It sits on the edge of a lake right next to Burj Dubai in the Business Bay district, surrounded by cutting-edge, modern architecture and within walking distance from some of the best shopping centres the city has to offer. The Dubai Mall is literally a shopper's heaven and is really a rather extraordinary experience in terms of scale, grandeur and architecture.
There are a number of choices for accommodation at the hotel depending on your requirements and budget. 242 guest rooms, which includes 81 luxury suites. 7 styles to choose from, but every room has a private balcony with impressive views of the Old Town, Burj Lake or the Dubai Fountain. The decor is decadently Middle Eastern - an experience of colour and texture, which aims to promote comfort and a sense of being a 'home-away-from-home'. The bathrooms are a delight and come with complimentary items such as indulgent toiletries, loofah mitts, cotton wool pads and fresh flowers.
The Palace Downtown is home to a number of splendid restaurants and bars. Thiptara offers an al fresco dining experience looking out over the Dubai Fountain. It serves mouthwatering Thai cuisine, mostly seafood, in a truly romantic setting. Asado is a lively and vibrant Argentinian dining experience, with live music to complete the picture. Ewaan Lounge provides an 'Arabian Nights' experience with traditional Arabian tents alongside the pool. Mezze, shisha, beverages and music - It is great fun! Breakfast in the hotel caters for everyone and offers smoked fish, eggs, muffins, breads, croissants and a whole lot more. If you like bacon with your breakfast then be aware that the hotel does not serve pork and your bacon will be actually made from beef or turkey.
Obviously there is a wildly exciting city outside the hotel to explore, but if you are looking for something to do on a lazy day then there is always the Spa to indulge in. It is a wholly pampering experience with a number of delicious Oriental treatments to choose from, along with hammam slabs, steam rooms, Jacuzzis and a comfortable relaxation lounge. There is also a fitness centre to head to if you've over-indulged. The palm-fringed luxury swimming pool overlooks the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa, and is an experience you won't forget in a hurry! You can choose to lounge on a super comfy lounger, or retreat from the sun into one of the Arabian tents at the Ewaan Lounge. Then there is Dubai! Step out onto the streets and head to the Dubai Mall for a mind-blowing shopping marathon, or just go exploring and absorb the futuristic, extravagant, sensational vibe that fills this amazing city. OR head out into the desert for an Arabic experience that will leave you with a camera full of memories.
Children are totally welcome at The Palace Downtown, and most of the restaurants will offer a kids menu, and if not then room service certainly will. There are no clubs on offer, but there is a childrens pool. The hotel will happily provide high chairs and cots on request.
Being as central as it is, it is therefore no surprise that hotel is so easy to get to. It is a mere 30-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, and from here it is easy to get a taxi.
