What we love
Dar Zemora’s owners set out to produce a villa that offers comfort, peace, privacy and luxury in a gorgeous setting, and wow, did they succeed! You can’t fail to relax and feel at home here and the gardens and pool here are just stunning. The she short distance into the Medina from this peaceful Oasis really does give you the best of both worlds
There are many things that make Dar Zemora such a special place. For us, however, what stands out are the beautiful gardens and the vision of the owners, who have designed the house to give you fantastically sumptuous surroundings, but where you feel right at home and perfectly able to relax the second you walk through the door.
This is largely due to the clever design of the house, purpose built using the best of all things local and European, to give space, privacy and relaxation, yet wonderful rooms for entertaining and holidaying as a group. The service is also of note here, unobtrusive yet attentive in true Moroccan style, and Dar Zemora has wonderful cooks who produce 6 course tasting menus alternated with delicious Moroccan cuisine.
Set in 1 hectare of roses, fruit trees (which produce your breakfast juice!), bougainvillea, palms and lush lawns, you feel that you really are in an Oasis. Pathways lead you around the garden to the large solar-heated overflow pool and terrace – where you can even have a romantic dinner a deux under the stars! There are many beautiful gardens in Morocco, but this is definitely one of our favourites – so private, restful and welcoming.
Another favourite here is the ‘Fan Room’ – a lounge area which can be open to the garden on warm days, where large drapes keep you shaded from the sun – the perfect place for a post-prandial nap!
The Villa has 3 beautiful bedrooms, 2 enormous suites and a separate pavilion in the grounds, a self contained suite of 2 double bedrooms, a sitting room and its own private terraces and pool. All bedrooms have fantastic views of the garden and are all unique – hugely comfortable and with traditional Moroccan touches. The various lounge and dining areas have been designed to give you a beautiful room for every occasion, and every time of year – relaxing with a book, drinks before dinner, and light and airy or cosy with roaring log fires.
Just to complete the relaxing experience of staying here, Dar Zemora has it’s very own traditional Hammam and treatment room, set in a separate building in the garden, where you can have a pampering massage, facial or manicure.
Please note – as well as being available on an exclusive use basis, Dar Zemora is also available on a room by room basis – please contact us for details.
There is chilled-out and then there is Dar Zemora. A place where you can eat sticky pancake breakfasts on the terrace in your pyjamas at whatever time you like, potter about in the garden with croquet lawns and herbs, and melt in the sunshine next to a splendid pool, like a satisfied cat
