What we love
We love the unique nature of this fine hotel, the pink hue of the building sits beautiful and proud amongst its stunning surroundings. The atmosphere of the hotel is bright and breezy yet it maintains a decadent and intimate feel throughout. It is an incredibly attractive hotel boasting superb location.
Setting the scene
Located at the foot of Table Mountain, The Belmond Mount Nelson is immersed in natural beauty, yet is a stones throw away from the delights of downtown Cape Town. A cosmopolitan and vibrant place, dip in and out of the two extremes at will and choose day by day how you wish to explore this beautiful city.
Boasting 198 rooms this hotel oozes character and has significant points of difference that refreshingly set it aside from others in the area. The designers have opted for a modern, summery and refreshing tone to the rooms. Their attention to detail is immaculate and all the rooms contain all the necessary amenities and service that you would expect of a hotel with a reputation for being consistently achieving above and beyond expectations. The 8 secluded Garden Cottage suites are particular favourite of ours.
The Planet displays stunning features and detail; the menu is fresh and innovative with more than a sporting chance of discovering something that has never passed your lips before. Be brave and tuck in! The Planet bar has a constant buzz; classy cocktails and a refined wine list ensure it's THE place to be in town. The Chefs Table is at the height of innovation and theatre. Get up close and personal with the chefs and see the stage unfold right in front of you. The menu is consistently changing and you will be constantly amazed by Executive Chef, Rudi Liebenberg's, uncompromising talents.
A full treatment spa is available with a wide range of tempting options. It has 2 outdoor swimming pools and an extensive fitness centre. If a unique Artisan Signature Boutique is what you're looking for then look no further; a wide array of locally sourced products are available for you to enjoy. The location of the Belmond Mount Nelson is a major bonus; Kloof Street and Long Street are famous for their bustling markets. Culture is always close by in the way of Museums, and do feel free to explore the city further with the various sporting activities on offer.
With the hotel offering babysitting services, the restaurants being family friendly and a comprehensive list of activities on offer, this is a wonderful family option.
