New York may be the city that never sleeps but you'll have no excuse for not enjoy sweet dreams at the Ritz-Carlton. Whilst all rooms are similar in size, if views are important you will want to opt for a city view or deluxe park view room. These rooms also boast beautifully appointed marble bathrooms as well as all the amenities you would expect at a five star hotel of this calibre, including sound proof windows.|A selection of suites are situated on the higher floors, all with views of either the city or Central Park. The tabletop telescope in all city and park view rooms is a nice touch too.
The Star Lounge is open from 11.30 am and the perfect place to drop in for lunch, a light snack or an evening cocktail. For the ultimate indulgence, treat yourselves to the famous tradition of the Ritz-Carlton Afternoon Tea which is served in the Star Lounge between 2pm and 4pm and is a decadent serving of sandwiches, cakes and a selection of specialty tea with impeccable service. |The Auden Bistro and Bar offers a stylish Manhattan dining experience. With tasteful, natural wood decor, the restaurant overlooks 6th Avenue, a reminder of the busy world outside the calm and relaxing Bistro atmosphere. The menu is based on regionally sourced ingredients making it an ideal place for sampling local food that is well produced, elegantly presented and most importantly, immensely tasty. For younger diners, a specially designed and equally delicious children's menu is also available. |Something of a local character, have a chat with Norman at the Auden Bar. Epitomising the 'local' New York bar tender, he loves to welcome people to his bar and to New York City.
Staying at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park you will find Manhattan waiting to be discovered on your doorstep. New York shopping havens, Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue are both just blocks away, the theatres of Broadway easily accessible and bookable via your concierge at the hotel. See the famous sights of the city, Times Square, Rockefeller Centre or take in one of the many museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art which is a short walk from the hotel. |When you need a break from all of that there is a fully equipped fitness centre, with weights, cardio equipment, personal trainers and yoga instructors available. The RitzKids scheme is specially designed to encourage children to interact with the local environment and to gain understanding of the culture, cuisine and arts of the region through fun activities and experiences. RitzKids is open to children from five to twelve years of age.
It will take around 45 minutes by taxi from the three major New York Airports, LaGuardia, Newark and JFK. Taxis are a popular way to travel in New York and are readily available from the airports.
