What we love
The way in which this hotel is tucked into the landscape, becoming part of the scenery and in doing so becoming the perfect viewpoint. The swimming pool is amazing and the hot tub at the foot of the rock face really adds to the remote outdoor feeling of the hotel.
Setting the scene
At first look the hotel is stark and angular but this is clever architecture as the simplicity of the design allows the stunning landscape surrounding the hotel to add all the drama and colour required. The perfect place to absorb the scenery. The swimming pool connects the building to the landscape, sweeping round the rugged rock face. Inside are immaculately presented living spaces, restaurant, spa and of course, your suite with it's own spectacular vista.
The suites at the Amangiri are beautifully appointed, spacious and have all the benefits and features you would expect from a five star Aman property. Luxury bathrooms with twin rain showers, private sun terraces and private plunge pools (in the pool suites). But, the highlight of the suites is their large room size windows which bring the magnificence of the surrounding landscape right into the room. The views from the mesa view suites are particularly good at sunset when the golden colours reflect off the mesas.
The Dining Room has a menu based on locally sourced and seasonal produce served from the open kitchen with wood-fired oven. The open kitchen gives the Dining Room an intimacy and a relaxed feel that is complimented by the excellent service. The hotel's signature floor to ceiling glass doors give diners views to the outdoor dining terrace and the swimming pool beyond.|A private dining room is available, adjacent to the main Dining Room and seats up to ten guests. The walk in wine cellar seems indulgent in the desert setting but provides a chance for guests to sample unique and artisan wines by the glass.
Two lounges, one indoor, one outdoor provide space to relax, enjoy the views or take after dinner drinks. The library also provides a quiet space with destination literature and board games. The Aman Spa is the ultimate in indulgence and offers a full menu of treatments in specially designed treatment rooms and outdoor terraces. |When you are ready for something a little more active, the swimming pool is a central point to the hotel and uniquely wraps around the rock, bringing the surrounding landscape right into the hotel. The hot tub at the base of the rock wall is a popular choice for relaxing. There are yoga and fitness classes and access to a fully equipped fitness centre. |Hiking on around the property is a popular way to explore, there are many trails to choose from varying in difficulty and distance, taking from one to five hours. Horse riding is an iconic way to travel through the American South West and the Amangiri is able to arrange a number of trails and experiences to suit ability.Boat trips are the best way to see Lake Powell and the Colorado River or take to the air with a scenic flight or hot air balloon ride to see the true majesty of this incredible terrain.
