What we love
The location is stunning and we love the unusual yet charming ability to watch the array of animals from the comfort of your own room. The individual style in each room is both extremely deluxe and pleasantly personal.
Setting the scene
Located in the middle of Sabi Sand, side by side with one of its largest lakes, Chitwa Chitwa presents a delightfully surreal scene for the discerning wishing to discover wildlife up close and relax in pure luxury.
Chitwa Chitwa boasts 6 individual suites designed in an avant-garde African/European manner. We love the plunge pools that sit elegantly on the back of each individual terrace providing incredible views of the bush, the atmosphere of the suites and outside areas are intense and exhilarating, something unique but something very special.
The Charlsy Suite in particular is a superb solution for families or friends travelling together! It consists of two splendidly appointed inter-leading en-suite rooms joined by a comfortable living area. A fabulously spacious common lake view deck with a swimming pool completes this unique unit.
All the Chitwa Chitwa Suites include a bath-tub, indoor and outdoor shower, fireplace, minibar, fan, hairdryer, tea coffee making facility and an iPod docking station.
Chitwa House consists of two beautifully appointed en-suite rooms with private decks and outdoor showers. The common areas include a spacious common lounge and dining area and a lake-view deck with swimming pool. During down time, enjoy drinks from the fully stocked mini-bar and coffee/tea facilities or watch the private television in your lounge.
There are a variety of fine dining options available and it is a must to go Al Fresco at least once during your stay, the cuisine is a perfect way to begin or end your day of game viewing. The attention to detail on the dishes is mirrored by the extraordinary service of all things at Chitwa Chitwa.
The obvious attraction is of course, the wildlife located all around you, the close and personal nature is a great point of difference and offers guests a different aspect of viewing. The lodge has developed a relationship with the nearby village of Dixie, where cultural tours are arranged. If relaxation is what you're after then look no further than the resident masseuse who will expertly deliver that duty.
The placing of Chitwa Chitwa story books on their beds each night is a thoughtful and lovely touch, special bush tours aimed at children are set up. Marshmallow roasting and face painting are among other child friendly opportunities. A truly magical option for a family trip to Africa.
