Palm Point Villa Antigua, Caribbean & Mexico
Jumby Bay Resort
What we love
Music and dancing plays a big part in Antiguan life and there are always plenty of steel bands, impromptu parties and an infamous carnival which lasts for well over a week!
Antigua is a Caribbean island with something for everyone – typically beautiful white sand beaches (some of the best in the Caribbean, in fact – and 365 of them…one for every day of the year!).
This is an island where you do as little or as much as you’d like – equally you can be as laid back or as glamorous as you wish! From local beach bars to glamorous restaurants, and a huge variety of activities for those who don’t want to spend their whole holiday under a palm tree, we love Antigua for its universal appeal, Caribbean vibe and warm welcome.
Antigua has a world-wide reputation amongst the yachting community for it’s fabulous sailing conditions and beautiful scenery – culminating in Antigua Sailing Week every spring when the island comes alive with exhilarating races, lively spectators and, of course, parties. Much of the action is centred around Nelson’s Dockyard, the former base of the British Navy during the 18th Century.
No visit to the island is complete without a visit to ‘Shirley Heights’ on a Sunday night, where it seems the entire island comes out to party, drink rum punch and dance to the sound of a steel band, while the sun sets over the incredible views across English Harbour.
There is some wonderful snorkelling and diving to be found off the coast and as this is one of the larger islands, plentiful direct flights and a wide choice of luxury villas and resorts, makes Antigua a fantastic choice.
