What we love
Every island has its own character and must-sees, and every island oozes charm and a laid-back Caribbean vibe of its own.
The British Virgin Islands is known as ‘Nature’s Little Secrets’, and as soon as you arrive in this tiny British territory in the middle of crystal clear Caribbean water, you understand why. Small but perfectly formed, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke are the main islands of the archipelago, but the BVI encompasses a cluster of more 60 islands in total – many of which are tiny or uninhabited – but all stunning. Their proximity to each other, natural beauty and calm, clear waters make this the perfect for sailing, and those-in-the-know travel from all over the world to cruise in the calm, warm waters surrounding the islands.
However, the BVI is not just beautiful when viewed from the deck of your luxury yacht, as staying on land offers some of the most beautiful, unspoilt landscapes and beaches in the world, along with a variety of luxury accommodation, from world-class private islands, luxury resorts which encompass an entire small island, yet still retain intimacy and privacy, and a fabulous selection of privately-owned luxury villas that offer a sumptuous home-from-home experience with excellent service to match.
Very often the best places are hardest to get to, and the unspoilt nature of these islands makes you feel that you have journeyed to the ends of the earth to find such untouched surroundings, and a genuine warmth and welcome from the Islanders. However, the reality is that the BVI is just a short hop from Antigua, which is a main hub for many incoming direct flights into the Caribbean, offering a rare opportunity to experience such a wonderful destination with minimal hassle.
If you are feeling active and adventurous there are hundreds of things to do – from hiking in any of the 28 National Parks or an endless choice of watersports, or for those in need of a ‘no news and no shoes’ break from it all, you couldn’t pick a more perfect place, by just finding a spot on a snow-white sandy beach under a palm tree watching one of the best sunsets you will ever see!
