What we love
What a fabulous location! This resort hotel is cleverly presented, weaving around the waterways and tropical forest of the Riviera Maya, showcasing the pristine beauty of the region at it's best. With attentive service throughout the Fairmont Mayakoba is the place to stay on the Riviera.
Setting the scene
Nestled amongst the tropical jungle, white sand dunes, waterways and mangroves, the indulgently appointed casitas and suites are at one with the natural landscape. Walk through the forest footpaths, soak up the sun on the pristine beach, or take a refreshing dip in one of the swimming pools, this is a tropical escape that demands a slower pace of life.
The casitas, or guest rooms, range in location from the Bamboo Building close to the main resort centre, cascading through the forest and around the lagoons to the few Ocean Front Casitas. All are spaciously designed with large windows allowing for lots of natural light and views of the forest, lagoons or beach. The guest rooms all have a private terrace or balcony. A range of suites are available and give you a master bedroom and separate living area and in some cases dining area. The larger suites really take luxury to the next level with private infinity plunge pools.
You can't go wrong with the choices for dining at the Fairmont Mayakoba. The resort has a commitment to sustainable, locally sourced food including following stringent guidelines for obtaining seafood which is all caught in the surrounding waters.
Las Brisas has the enviable location right on the beach front making it the perfect place for a sundowner cocktail or romantic evening meal. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, serving a varied menu of meats, seafood and vegetarian dishes. El Puerto is set back from the beach, in the main building but still has superb views across the lagoon. Here you can indulge in Mexican and international cuisine with the seafood platters something of a speciality. For casual dining, La Laguna Restaurant boasts indoor and alfresco dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner, mixing Mexican flavours to international favourites. For a light snack during the day the Cafe Maya offers a range of deli style delicacies, Mayan chocolate, pastries, coffee and ice cream.
There is no shortage of venues from which to enjoy your beverage of choice, whether it be a craft beer at La Laguna Lounge or a poolside cocktail at Las Oslas and Agua bars.
The Fairmont Mayakoba is a heavenly place to relax, unwind and let go of life's stresses. Enjoy time with your book on the beach or by one of the five swimming pools, take your time over long lunches and pre dinner drinks. Spend a few hours at the Willow Stream Spa which has an extensive menu of treatments to help you rejuvenate.
There are two tennis courts and access to El Camaleon golf course which tracks it's way through the uniquely local landscapes including the sand dunes, mangroves and sink holes made by the fresh water rivers known as cenotes.
The Maritur Travel Agency operates from the resort and is able to arrange tours to the local Mayan ruins and other attractions as well as the ever popular boat tour of the coastal area.
This resort is designed with families in mind and offers specially created activities for children.
