What we love
Unmistakably Caribbean with all the spirit of St Barths; the turquoise seas and golden sand views from Le Sereno are second to none.
Setting the scene
Le Sereno is an intimate family-owned and operated 'boutique' hotel spanning the pristine shoreline of the Grand Cul de Sac on the eastern coast of St Barths. As one would expect from one of the most stylish islands in the Caribbean (well - it is French!) the beautifully Christian Liaigre designed interior is rich with dark woods and linens giving the hotel an edgy masculine feel but with all the comfort you would expect of a hotel of this standard.
The specifically fabricated furnishings and feel of the property translates right through to the bedrooms, with fixings, furnishings and even the level lighting perfectly complimenting all of the mod cons we have all become so accustomed to. The hotel offers a choice of one bedroom suites, bungalows and villas perfect for couples, or friends travelling together. Alternatively for families there are perfectly proportioned 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom suites with a choice of waterfront or garden views - the epitome of flexible accommodation! For larger families or groups travelling together, Le Sereno Villa - considered by many to be the finest lodging option on the island - sits on half an acre of private gardens with stunning views of the ocean.
Offering a French and Asian fusion, Le Sereno restaurant is rich with local vibrant flavours and ingredients of the Caribbean. As the only restaurant at the hotel, the menu most definitely does not disappoint - with diners visiting from all over the island to sample the wide selection of dishes, both large and small, that highlight the island's bounty of fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables. (Remember to save space for dessert (the Tropical Leche must not be missed!)
Le Sereno offers all of the water based activities one would expect on the bay at Grand Cul de Sac such as swimming, snorkelling, kite surfing, windsurfing and paddle boarding. You can also go for a leisurely walk along the bay, hike into the surrounding hills or play tennis, as court time is complimentary and instruction from one of the island's pros is available.
As the accommodation options would suggest, children are most welcome at Le Sereno. The immaculate bay is shallow and still making it the perfect place for kids to paddle or have a go at kayaking or paddle boarding. Although there is no kids club at the resort, there is a babysitting service on offer. The beachside Spa is quite simply a world of serenity and laid-back luxury featuring an extensive menu of facials, body wraps and massages exclusively using Ligne St. Barth products and techniques.
You can get to St Barths from Antigua via a short inter-island flight. Boat transfers can also be taken from the neighbouring St Martin.
