What we love
Roger Moore has sat on the very bar stool in the intimate Piano Bar whilst donning his James Bond guise.,And he was in good company, for this exclusive hotel is favoured by the well suited & booted. We just love the attention to detail and level of service - sublime.
Setting the scene
Resembling that of a traditional fishing village, the hotel itself looks more rugged monastery meets Bond villain's hideaway than a five star luxury Starwood Collection hotel. But this is part of its unique, unassuming charm. Inside is a completely different story. The shabby certainly turns to chic as soon as you walk in, in a refreshingly quirky way we love the curving corridors, the exposed rickety chestnut beams and the swirling staircases that weave through this myriad of discovery.
From Classic, Superior and Premium rooms or Deluxe, Premium and Presidential Suites there is something to suit everyone. All the rooms are furnished with Sardinian arts & crafts and enjoy balconies or terraces that allow the intoxicating fragrance of eucalyptus and wild juniper from the manicured hotel gardens to breeze through. For that extra special, largely unseen levels of elegance and sophistication, book a stay at the Presidential Suite. As the name suggest, this is the premier position within the hotel and is arguably one of the best places to stay on the island. Whilst whole heartedly embracing the Sardinian culture, this romantic 3 bedroom suite boasts a solarium, a fitness area and a luxurious private swimming pool on its expansive terrace.
Offering 2 restaurants and 3 bars, the atmosphere here is very much about the slower pace of life. The main restaurant, Cala di Volpe Restaurant is a perfect example of the renowned designer Jacque Couelle's vision for the hotel. Rustic in charm but utterly refined in service, the adventurous flavours of Chef Franco Guardone display an international and local flare. For a lavish barbecue full of Sardinian specialities, head to the Barbecue Restaurant and dine al fresco under the rustic thatched awning on home made dishes of pasta and fresh seafood. After an invigorating session in the swimming pool or after a hard morning sunbathing, settle yourself on one of the bar stools at La Piazzetta Bar and tuck into the lights snacks of Sardinian hams, local olive and well loved Italian pizzas. There are elegant and authentic bars to enjoy also or for a refined end to a night, a trip to the hotel's Le Cave deep in the cellar is an experience in itself.
