What we love
Part of the renowned COMO collection, Castello del Nero prides itself on its excellent service and it's superb onsite facilities. Housed in a former 12th century castle, the hotel is perfectly positioned to enjoy the best that Tuscany has to offer.
Nestled in the famous Chianti wine region amongst Tuscany’s beautiful rolling hills, you’ll find the prestigious COMO Castello del Nero Hotel. With 740 acres of sprawling grounds to enjoy, this 12th century castle boasts the perfect combination of traditional Italian décor mixed with modern touches from interior designer Paola Navone. Located a 45-minute drive from both Florence and Siena, COMO Castello del Nero is in the perfect position from which to explore two of Tuscany’s best loved cities. Whatever the nature of your stay, you’ll be sure to enjoy the best that Tuscany has to offer at COMO Castello Del Nero.
There are almost 50 rooms and suites to choose from at the hotel, all offering a luxurious stay in stunning surroundings. Guests can opt for the Estate or Tavarnelle rooms, complete with high ceilings, terracotta floors and views of either the castle courtyard or the rolling Tuscan hills. If you’re looking for something extra special, upgrade to one of the historic Heritage or Loft suites to enjoy spacious bedrooms with separate living areas and decorative bathrooms, with the Como suite even benefitting from a shared outdoor terrace.
There are three dining venues on site including the Michelin-starred La Torre restaurant and the more relaxed La Taverna restaurant for less formal dining. Both offer locally sourced ingredients, some of which are direct from the grounds of the hotel, for the ultimate ‘estate to table’ dining experience. Diners at La Torre can opt to eat al fresco during the summer months on the outdoor terrace, whilst those eating at La Taverna can dine in the historic interiors of the castle’s original kitchen, dating back 900 years.
There’s a range of wellness and spa options from COMO Shambhala, which is open seven days a week, as well as fitness activities on offer including tennis courts, cycle routes and guided walks around the estate’s extensive olive groves and vineyards. If you’re looking for a real bucket list experience, the hotel can also offer authentic Tuscan cooking classes, truffle hunting and even star gazing.
Florence Airport is 40 minutes away by car, whilst Pisa Airport is one hour and 15 minutes away.
