What we love
The first European hotel to be opened by Aman, the Canal Grande Venice remains loyal to the Aman ethos of ensuring that it remains true to its surroundings and produces astounding and uncompromising quality.
Setting the scene
Quintessentially Venetian, the hotel is set in the former Palazzo Papadopoli, and has a rich and impressive history with dramatic architecture such as a grand staircase and Murano glass chandeliers. This boutique abode is fast becoming the place to reside whilst visiting this beautiful and fascinating city.
There are just 24 suites and most boast gorgeous views over the Grand Canal. Arguably one of the best views in the city. There are 5 signature suites including the stunning Alcova Tiepolo suite, which has its own Chinese painted sitting room and an ornate ceiling by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo - one of the greatest decorative painters of 18th century Europe.
Keeping in style with the Aman brand, there are 2 restaurants, both of which serve delicious Asian Cuisine. Naoki, offers al fresco Japanese cuisine in the hotel gardens during the summer months and The Yellow Dining Room - which incidentally is home to a magnificent fireplace, serves a refreshing mix of Italian and Asian dishes.
Venice screams out to be explored and there are many interesting culture and historical places to visit. For something a little bit more romantic and laid back why not enjoy a leisurely gondola ride along the city's picturesque canals.
This is definitely one to enjoy for just you and your loved one.
The international Airport Marco Polo Venice is just a 35 minute water taxi ride away from the hotel.
