What we love
If you love old England, and want to experience something close to how it would have been to have a butler and your every need met, then The Connaught is the perfect place to indulge that fantasy.
Setting the scene
At over 100 years old The Connaught has welcomed some exciting people through its doors: oh the stories it could tell! Whilst it's seen many revamps over those years, thanks to a team of internationally-renowned designers, it still retains much of the old-fashioned values, such as an exceptional butler service and antique furniture. Centrally placed in London's upmarket Mayfair, the city is at your fingertips, with the West End just a few minutes away, for theatres, shopping and a whole lot more.
Steeped in history, The Connaught oozes sophistication with a mix of the past and present, and each room has been flavoured thus thanks to designers such as the late David Collins and Guy Oliver. Whilst feeling you have stepped back in time due to the classic elegance and the attentive butler, you will want for nothing from the modern world. Each room comes with all mod-cons, including extras for those who are there to work rather than enjoy themselves, such as secretarial services, business card printing and video conferencing.
If eating is a favourite pastime there's much at The Connaught to whet your appetite. Helene Darroze at The Connaught is a two Michelin-starred restaurant showing off the very best of French cuisine. Espelette is a more relaxed vibe offering brasserie-style dining. In a traditional hotel such as The Connaught, you would be right to expect an impressive afternoon tea and that is certainly what you get. There are also two bars, Connaught Bar and Coburg Bar. Or for something a bit special there is the Sommelier's Table that's hunkered beneath the kitchens where a collection of 6,000 vintage wines are kept in a limestone clad cellar just waiting to be enjoyed with a maximum of eight people for lunch or dinner.
The Connaught is home to the world famous Aman Spa and is the only one in Europe. It is a place to forget the outside world, with a range of specialist treatments, as well as an ionised pool with cascading granite water wall to transport you to another world. If you fancy venturing further afield, the doors of The Connaught take you out into one of the world's most vibrant and exciting cities; whether you want culture or couture, to meet up with friends or just soak up the London vibe, there's something for everyone.
Children are not only welcome at The Connaught, they are treated like the mini adults they are, from having their own carefully created menu at the Helene Darroze restaurant, to a mini bathrobe and slippers. There is a children's concierge who can arrange any number of activities in the capital during their stay, as well as access to board games and Nintendo Wii with a number of games. Some say a night in a hotel is just for grownups, The Connaught says bring the kids along and we'll entertain them for you.
The Connaught is a 10 minute walk from Bond Street underground station, on the corner of Mount Street and Carlos Place.
