What we love
Be sure to try some delicious Mauritian food at Bambou. They also hold weekly theme nights where you can enjoy entertainment such as traditional sega dances.
Setting the scene
Situated on a vast lagoon sheltered by coral reef barriers, Four Seasons Anahita occupies some of the Anahita Wilderness Sanctuary which stretches for 6km along Mauritius' East coastline. Designed to be at one with nature, the Beach and Ocean Pool villas and the Presidential Suite are located on the private island, Ile aux Chats, whilst the rest are on the mainland. The Four Seasons Resort Mauritius features 132 spacious villas and private residences designed to inspire a connection with the natural surroundings.
Of the 132 villas, some occupy the private island whilst others are on the mainland, but whichever you choose you will find the same high standards to be expected of the Four Seasons brand, with each villa featuring a private landscaped terrace with plunge pool, an open-air bathroom, private outdoor garden shower, and all the other luxurious and conveniences you might desire.
Eating is by way of any of four restaurants, each with their own setting and character. Acquapazza serves contemporary Italian cuisine in an elegant yet informal atmosphere overlooking the lagoon. Beau Champ is a contemporary grill with an open-concept kitchen. It also has a spacious wine cellar of more than 400 labels, mostly French sourced. Beachfront and poolside dining is offered at Bamboo for relaxed daytime dining or a treat of authentic Mauritian flavours after the sun goes down. Le Club is situated near the 18-hole golf course meaning there's no need to leave once you're there. Wet your whistle pre or post dinner at the resort's O-Bar whilst watching the sun go down.
There's little time for sitting around with all the activities on offer, many on a complimentary basis, such as golf (including green fees and cart), Hobie Cats, kayaking, snorkelling, waterskiing, tennis, and that's just for the adults! There are others that can be arranged additionally by the resort including horse riding, archery and jungle trekking, among others. For the less ambitious there is a spa with two infinity pools and copious treatments. Or for lying down without the pampering there's always the beach, but beware the giant tortoises that roam around unaided!
Children are always welcome at Four Seasons and are well catered for. Kids for all Seasons is the excellent child care facility available, and the Hobbit Kids Club Village includes its own, amphitheatre, bakery, swimming pool, playground and film-viewing area, supervised by qualified and friendly staff. There is also a full babysitting service available, meaning that from the moment you arrive to the time you leave you rarely have to see your children at all. Unless you want to, of course.
Four Seasons Anahita is approx 25km drive from Port Louis airport, by either taxi or private car.
