What we love
We love the fact that you cannot get a bad room at the Al Bustan Palace. Each one looks out over the mountains, gardens, lagoon or beach, each with its own exquisite charms. The Presidential Suites are absolutely huge and spectacular
Setting the scene
Cradled by the mighty Al Hajar mountain range to the rear with a sweep of beach overlooking the Gulf of Oman at its feet this hotel's contemporary architecture dramatically meets the centuries of local tradition with both Art Deco and Arabian culture and has a reputation as one of the most established hotels in the Middle East. The Palace was built to accommodate visiting heads of state and the high levels of service and comfort given to those rulers are also afforded to all its guests.
The rooms and suites have been designed to reflect both local traditions and art deco influences, creating luxurious rooms full of comfort and modern amenities. Room types are broken down into the views available - depending on your preference. The largest suites are 300 square metres with two King size bedrooms and can be inter-connected.
Dining at the hotel has something to suit all tastes, from the relaxed seaside Beach Pavilion Restaurant & Bar, the China Mood which serves fresh and authentic Chinese cuisine to the all-day buffet at the Al Khiran Terrace restaurant with a menu that changes every day from Route 66 to Farm to Table as well as more recognisable themes like Italian and steakhouse. Blu is the eatery situated in the hotel garden by the pool for refreshing drinks and snacks.
The resort offers complimentary watersports such as snorkelling, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and tennis although we do recommend a diving or fishing trips that can be arranged by the staff on resort. For something even more adventurous, why not head for an overnight camp trip in Wahiba Sands, do a spot of dolphin watching or even try your hand at camel racing. Alternatively, if relaxing and soaking up the sunshine is more your thing, there is a massive 3,165 kilometre coastline to enjoy!
Al Bustan Palace actively welcomes children and offers a children's pool, a playground, and a baby sitting service available upon request. There are also inter-connecting rooms to comfortably accommodate families.
Al Bustan Palace is approximately a 30-minute road transfer from the airport.
