What we love
An institution in itself, we love the vibrancy and excitement of arriving at The Plaza. Just walking through those doors and knowing we're in good hands is a bit like coming home.
Setting the scene
From its central location on Fifth Avenue, The Plaza boasts the largest square footage of any luxury hotel in New York City. With views over Central Park from some of the 282 rooms, the hotel is a buzzing institution in itself with its own boutiques, food halls, legendary restaurants, and grand spaces used for events and weddings. Like a well-oiled machine, The Plaza moves to the rhythm of the city vibe whilst providing the unparalleled service it is renowned for to each and every guest that walks through its doors.
The white-glove service of The Plaza is what makes staying there an experience in itself, offering every indulgence in opulent and elegant surroundings. Inspired by the Louis XV style of French dcor, each spacious guest room is designed to provide guests with a respite from the world outside whilst meeting their every need. The Plaza is the first hotel in the world to have 24-carat gold-plated Sherle Wagner-designed sinks and fixtures in every room, and it is also the first to provide iPads for all guests so that they may be in charge of their entire hotel experience - order room service, make reservations, check airline schedules, all at the tip of your fingers.
The iconic Palm Court, host to many a lavish event and a prime place to people-watch is perfect for breakfast and afternoon tea, whilst the Todd English Food Hall is a bustling vibrancy of European-inspired food presented like the famous indoor markets. The architecture of the place is to be appreciated too, with mosaic marble floors, elegant wooden panelling and stained glass windows. With nine food stations offering an array of foods from Ocean Grill & Oyster Bar to Sushi Bar, you can eat in, entertain, or take elsewhere. Once the legendary nightclub, the Persian Room, the lavish Rose Club has played host to many famous guests including Bob Hope and Liza Minnelli, and is now open to guests and New Yorkers alike on a Wednesday and Thursday night for live jazz. Serving light gourmet fare and an array of signature cocktails, it is a wonderful place to wile away the evening hours. The Champagne bar has welcomed many of New York's elite for champagne, caviar and fine wines.
Aside from the pull of New York City, with its iconic venues and shopping galore, there is plenty to keep you busy at The Plaza. Browse the food halls for inspiration for your next dinner party, or shop at one of the many boutiques. Visit Eloise at The Plaza, where there is fun to be had dressing up like Eloise and enjoying a fancy tea with friends - if you're a young girl that is! Or relax in the Caudalie Vinthrapie Spa and then indulge in a new 'do' for the evening at the Warren-Tricomi Salon.
Children are welcome at The Plaza.
