What we love
The understated elegance and classiness of the Viceroy makes it a hidden gem in the heart of Manhattan. We love the rooftop bar for pre dinner drinks and the location is perfect for sightseeing and shopping alike.
Setting the scene
Stylish and contemporary, chic and sophisticated. The Viceroy New York doesn't have need to shout about its presence in Midtown Manhattan, it just quietly provides luxury accommodation with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms, a fashionable restaurant and bar with eclectic menu and great service with attention to detail so you will want for nothing. A calm and peaceful retreat from the frenetic pace of city life.
The rooms at the Viceroy are compact but not crowded and through thoughtful design provide all home comforts and a few luxuries too. Finished with warm colours and rich woods, the rooms are enhanced by the natural light that floods in from the large windows. The terrace rooms have their own outdoor terrace, an unusual feature in the city. For additional space, the suites have additional dining and living areas separate to the bedroom and if you upgrade to a park suite Central Park comes into view as well.
With a look that combines utilitarian with glamorous diner, the Kingside Restaurant on the ground floor of the Viceroy is popular with locals and hotel guests alike. The menu is diverse, taking influences from both traditional American grills and European cuisines. This is a fun place to enjoy the inventive gourmet dishes many of which are designed for sharing. The wine cellar matches the menu in its international origins and boasts wine from all over the world. There is a small bar to the Kingside but if you have time for a drink, head up to The Roof. An elegantly appointed bar with roof top terrace affording views of the city and on over Central Park, the perfect spot for a pre dinner drink.
With a wealth of sightseeing, shopping, museums and theatre for entertainment in the city there are few gaps for the hotel to fill. Do use the concierge for the best information on what to see when and tailor your stay in New York to your specific interests. If you are not exhausted by the city activities there is a fully equipped fitness centre at the hotel.
Children are welcome at the Viceroy New York and whilst every effort is made to accommodate them, there are no specific facilities for children. There are lots of exciting things for families to see and do in New York city though and the concierge will be happy to assist with suggestions for suitable activities.
From JFK and La Guardia Airports it takes around half an hour to drive to the Viceroy New York. The traditional yellow New York taxis are easily sourced at the airport and are one of the quickest ways to get into the city. If you are arriving by train Grand Central Station is about a mile away and again, taxis are readily available. Alternatively the hotel is within easy reach of the subway station.
