Quite possibly one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Europe, the Amalfi Coast makes for an idyllic honeymoon destination that combines luxury and adventure. Even driving along the twisting cliff road, with its expansive views out across the sea, is an experience in itself. There is no shortage of places to visit. Sorrento, described as the gateway to the Amalfi Coast, is a popular starting point and a worthwhile destination in its own right. Heading up the coast, Positano is instantly recognisable – steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes make this a great place to explore. And leave time for a trip to the iconic city of Naples, which also offers a convenient point from which to reach Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius.
Where to stay – Palazzo Avino is a beautifully renovated property which dates back to the Middle Ages and offers impeccable levels of service and stunning views out over the rooftops of Ravello and the Mediterranean Sea. Find out more.

Hike along footpaths or cycle through forests and make time to explore ancient villages, towns and cities. Superb regional food is in abundance with traditional dishes making the most of locally caught fresh fish, olive oil, herbs and cheeses. And don’t forget the array of islands dotted off the mainland that are just waiting to be explored – from the blue and white architecture of Santorini to the buzz of Mykonos, Greece is a destination which has it all.

The Seychelles are the best islands in the Indian Ocean to visit in August and the ultimate destination for sugar sand beaches. Choose from a number of different islands for your honeymoon stay; Praslin is the second largest and home to the UNESCO world heritage Vallée de Mai National Park, one of only two places in the world where the rare Coco de Mer palm grows in its natural state. Hike through this lush, untouched forest whilst keeping an eye out for the endangered Seychelles warbler and beautiful blue pigeon. Mahé, the largest island, offers the opportunity for some shopping in bustling markets and unique shops – and when you are hungry head to the marina for a superb lunch on the quayside. In addition to all this, British Airways are launching direct flights to Mahé starting in March 2018 and there are numerous early booking offers available in top resorts.

The islands of Tahiti could almost have been made for honeymoons – these tropical idylls in French Polynesia are home to golden beaches, lagoons, waterfalls and lush green forests. Encircled by coral reefs submerged under strikingly blue warm waters, they offer the most romantic of retreats. The most recognisable destinations are the Island of Tahiti itself, Bora Bora and Tetiaroa, best known as Marlon Brando’s private island, which once served as a summer residence for former chiefs and kings of Tahiti. Although it is the most perfect destination for relaxing in the sun on a beach while warm waters lap gently at the shore, Tahiti also offers you the opportunity to explore. Take in sacred archaeological sites on Tahiti Island or head out on a whale watching trip where you may even have an opportunity to snorkel with them and their young.
Where to stay – A truly unique resort on the private island of Tetiaroa, The Brando offers you carefree luxury in the midst of pristine nature. Find out more.
