As part of a recent research trip to the USA, I spent 2 whirlwind days in Miami – one of the most exciting, vibrant and stylish US cities I've been to. Miami could definitely be classed as a very ‘now’ destination, but it is also becoming known as a global leader in luxury travel – hotels and villas here are setting the standard not only in terms of a quality, high-end experience, but in terms of service, style and innovation.

One of the things I love about Miami is that it really has something to offer everyone, and could never be described as either bland or boring!
There are of course other destinations that are accessible by great transport links, or that have a great, year-round climate, but Miami just adds to that a certain kind of style (I loved the art deco, candy-colour style) and atmosphere (that certain kind of Latin rhythm), and it turns a stay into a far more interesting experience. I was also delighted to discover that Miami is one of the world’s most up and coming ‘foodie’ destinations and I was spoilt for choice with the incredible variety of restaurants, bars and cafes – many offering really innovative and exciting menus, all with that certain Miami style.
Another thing to impress me were the stunning hotels and the sheer variety and quality of the luxury Villas that I visited – from Spanish-style spacious mansions, to opulent, minimalist luxury homes with enviable art collections.
