Watersports in the Maldives
The Maldives are a watersports mecca. Cobalt blue, warm waters as far as the eye can see combined with year-round average temperatures of 28°C, make this collection of islands in the Indian Ocean the perfect destination for watersports enthusiasts. With an incredible array of activities - both motorised and non-motorised - there is something for everyone. You might like the idea of an early morning paddle across the atoll in a kayak, savouring the first warmth of the sun, whilst the children will be struggling to choose between banana boat rides, paddle boarding or snorkelling. Parasailing is popular whilst some resorts offer jet ski safaris which allow you to explore other islands in the Maldives, occasionally stopping for a spot of snorkelling or lunch on a beach.
Where to stay: One and Only Reethi Rah offers a great blend of luxury accommodation, excellent watersports facilities and a dedicated children’s club.

Get ready to experience extreme waterslides to tornado style raft rides and high-octane surfing to epic rollercoasters. Just prepare to get wet! Away from the waterparks, take a trip out of the city to the desert where you will be able to ride camels or take a 4X4 safari through the dunes.
Where to stay: Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai is the largest resort in Dubai. Experience exceptional levels of luxury, hospitality and comfort. As a bonus, all guests enjoy complimentary access to Wild Wadi Waterpark for the duration of their stay.
Island hopping in Greece
The Greek Island of Santorini at Sunset
With upwards of 200 islands to explore, Greece offers a real diversity of experiences and excellent island-hopping opportunities. We suggest you start your trip on the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos, where you can explore the maze of streets which hide little boutiques and cafes. Hire a boat and visit numerous secluded coves and beaches or try your hand at windsurfing. Next, head to Corfu to experience the authentic and undeveloped Greece found on the Northeast of the island. For views, take a trip up Mount Pantokrator, which is the highest point on the island. And don’t miss Santorini. Home to white sandy beaches and villages with narrow cobbled streets that are perched on cliff edges overlooking the sea, Santorini is probably one of the most picturesque of islands. A trip to Akrotiri on the island is a must – an ancient settlement that was destroyed in a huge volcanic eruption in 1627, it offers an insight into the raw power of volcanoes.
Where to stay: The Vasilicos, Santorini is a small hotel perched high on the Caldera cliff giving you sweeping views of the ocean.
Visit an elephant conservation project in Thailand
The importance of elephant conservation is gaining pace in Thailand with several well-run nature parks offering both a sanctuary to elephants and a destination for visitors who would like to spend some time interacting with these magnificent animals. Elephant Nature Park is one of the best-known conservation projects in Thailand and is dedicated to saving the Asian Elephant. It offers you the opportunity to experience seeing elephants roam in their natural habitat, as well as a chance to assist with feeding and caring for them. Walks with the elephants are also arranged and these trips take you through some lush jungle and beautiful countryside. It is quite different from any normal hike when you have an elephant by your side for company!
Where to stay: The Four Seasons Golden Triangle is a luxury tented camp set in the natural surroundings of Northern Thailand where you are able to spend time interacting with rescued elephants in their home habitat.
A Ranch holiday in Montana

If activities are what you are after on a family holiday then a trip to a ranch might be the perfect choice. Not only will you and your family get to enjoy the wide, open spaces that are characteristic of this corner of the United States but the wide range of activities on offer means there is something for everyone to enjoy. Many of these resorts are massive – tens of thousands of acres are your playground during your stay - more than enough for the adventurous to explore. As these are often working ranches, many of the activities can centre around day-to-day jobs. If you’ve always wanted to experience being a cowboy (or cowgirl) then you will be welcome to saddle up and help out. In addition to riding, experience world class fly fishing, white water rafting, ATV expeditions, archery, hiking and biking, hot air balloon flights and much more besides.
Where to stay: The Resort at Paws Up is an authentic cattle ranch set in 37,000 acres of rural Montana wilderness. They provide first class accommodation and a truly extensive array of activities for guests.
