Happy Three Kings Day!

Children in Spain are made to wait longer for their Christmas presents as they are traditionally brought by The Three Kings (Los Tres Reyes Magos) on 6th January, and this is celebrated in a day of partying, parades and presents on 5th January in villages, towns and cities all over Spain.  In fact, this festival is by far the largest highlight of the whole Christmas period for all Spanish families, and it's not just the children that get excited - adults of all ages get involved with this festival, and even the smallest villages mark the occasion with a procession !  The Three Kings are each given their own floats and make a procession around towns and villages, giving out sweets and, as if the Spanish sweet tooth hadn't been fed enough over the Christmas period, revellers will enjoy a piece of Rosco de Reyes, a large donut-shaped cake filled with cream!

Some of the most spectacular parades can be seen in Palma, Mallorca, Ibiza town and Marbella - three of our favourite luxury Villa destinations in Spain.
