Each January, the team at OS Private Travel are always quite excited to find out where Conde Nast Traveller deem to be the forthcoming year’s ‘Hottest Destinations’. There are usually a few favourites and a few surprises thrown into the mix as well, and – being as passionate about travel as we are – this can sometimes start a few heated debates in the office!
If we were to compile our list of hottest destinations for 2014, we would certainly include Brazil (how about a beach house for a week to recover from the World Cup?!), as well as some of the lesser-known Greek Islands, which seem to be selling like hot cakes at the moment.
However, we were delighted to see that two of our favourite destinations have been included in a very eclectic list – so alongside Nicaragua, Bhutan and Chengdu, we thoroughly agree that Mallorca and Great Britain have certainly earned their place as 2 of 2014’s official hottest destinations!
We have long been extolling the virtues of Mallorca as a classy, beautiful and brilliantly family-friendly destination. With wonderful villas and hotels, and a stunning and very varied environment, offering something for everyone, from wonderful beaches to one of Europe’s most exciting emerging foodie scenes. Over the last couple of years, we have also seen a sophisticated party scene emerging, with the opening of some fantastic beach clubs, but with a friendlier and less commercial vibe to Ibiza – but certainly no less cool.
Great for families, couples and large groups, Mallorca’s accessibility is a real advantage, and culturally Mallorca has so much to offer, from architecture to artists….if you’ve never visited Palma, this most definitely has to be somewhere to tick off your ‘short breaks destination’ list for 2014!
Conde Nast Traveller calls Mallorca ‘An alternative to Ibiza - the Balearic island to rediscover’ – and we couldn’t agree more. We think Mallorca offers the perfect balance of classic European sunshine holiday, but with added extras – and an ever-growing list of well-known and discerning visitors seems to agree! From stunning private villas, that offer surprisingly excellent value for money, to some of Europe’s most exciting hotel openings over the last year or so, Mallorca has so much choice and is somewhere that we think many people would love.
OS Private Travel also now has a wonderful hand-picked selection of fabulous holiday properties in the UK, from the West Country to Scotland, from intimate cottages to huge party-ready houses – and everything else in between!
So, to be a leader not a follower, contact us to discuss your holiday plans in Mallorca, the UK…or anywhere else!
