THE NORTH FACE ULTRA TRIAL DU MONT BLANC 26 AUGUST – 1 SEPTEMBER 2013

The North Face Ultra Trial Du Mont Blanc is by far one of the toughest races on the planet. It takes place annually and the course passes through The Alps, across France, Italy and Switzerland.

This ultra-marathon covers a total distance of approximately 166km, with a total elevation gain of around 9,400 metres. Its been known to take some runners 45 hours to complete the course, and there is not even any prize money at the end of it!

This year's race starts on 26th August and will cross 3 countries, 7 valleys, 71 glaciers, and 400 summits. The natural beauty of the course is what inspires most to continue, the runners are carried away by the magic of the landscape. At OS Private Travel we can completely understand this - some of our favourite destinations for both summer and winter are showcased during the course.

However its not all about running! This simply makes for an exciting time to visit the area and take part in some of the celebrations along the way. All along the route in every community that the race passes through, they are partying for the participants. Music, singing, dancing, tasting of regional produce, mulled wine, bonfires… In every village, each refreshment post is innovative in sharing their joy and welcomes all the runners, and those accompanying them, until the end of the night.

If you are inspired to join in with the fun then get in touch with a Private Travel Consultant today. We have some last minute availability in some of our key properties along the course. You can call us on 01993 899 430 or alternatively you can contact us via our website at www.osprivatetravel.com
