The Four Seasons Tented Camp is a truly special place. I was dubious about writing a blog for this hotel as I don’t think that words or even photos could do the place justice. But I’ll give it my best shot.
As close to the African Safari tented experience as I’m sure you can get (although I am unable to properly comment as I have never been!) this perfectly sized – just 15 tents – tented camp is quite simply what dreams are made of.
If you start off with the authentic style accommodation of Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco, add the rusticity and nature of the beautiful Guana Island in the BVI’s, sprinkle in the cool calm and collected vibes of GoldenEye in Jamaica (complete with suspension bridge) and finally top it off with the cherry that is the flawless Four Seasons service then I think you almost have it. But not quite – as this place is truly up there in a league of its own.
Each beautifully appointed and safari themed tent can accommodate up to 3 people, but usually they house couples – complete with massive roll top bath and an outdoor rainfall shower. Each ‘tent’ – and I use this word lightly as they have a bigger footprint than my house at home! – is individually decorated and named, scattered across the hillside with unparalleled vistas of the surrounding landscape.
Butterflies, birds and of course elephants call this place home and I wish I could say the same!! Perfect for a dual centre stay with Four Seasons Chiang Mai (my next stop) or even a triple centre with Four Seasons Koh Samui – the perfect honeymoon combination I say!
